People have been asking about the so- called investments made by the council. The Tories are in charge of our local council and made the decision to take our money offshore.
I cannot believe that so much money has been exposed to significant risk. £8 million is such a huge proportion of the total Bassetlaw budget.

It is the Conservatives in the town hall who have been gambling with our money.

They should be making wise investments and concentrating on running good local services, keeping the roads clean and tidy, bringing forward an efficient recylcing system and making Bassetlaw a brighter, safer and richer place in which to live.

Let's all hope that the Bassetlaw Conservative councillors will be able to get our money back from Iceland and learn that these speculative romps are not what they were elected to do.

Coun Bill Barker

Labour, Worksop North
