I support Eagle Eye, who said we should employ local contractors to install our town centre Christmas lights.
I have been in the Lion Hotel when these London contractors have been in there, and they seem to be living the life of Riley at our expense while local trades people are searching for work.

I am sure the council have a moral responsibility to employ local people.

While I am on the topic, I wonder if we can this year have some lights that do not keep going off in the town, as last year to my amazement, I was in Castle Jewellers, when they went off, and he reached under the counter to get a key to open up the lamp-post outside to turn them back on again.

They were all laughing and joking about the fact that the council had given them a key to keep the lights on.

There is a private house in Kilton with more lights than our council can afford for the whole town – it is time it was sorted.
