It's not safe in Worksop – it's a Wild West town

I have to say that until recently Worksop town has been a better place to shop.
After my visit today, I fear that we are going back to the old town that resembles a scene from the Wild West.

Today I watched several people being chased through the town after someone’s bag had been stolen.

Further on two lads were fighting, a woman was taking plants from the flower beds and putting them in a carrier bag – and all this surrounded by the bikes, cars and lorries that batter you to death as you walk.

I wanted today to go to several shops, but decided against staying in the town, as, to be honest, I did not feel safe.

Is it not time, if the police cannot do their job, that we had a private security company policing our town centre?

I want to use this town, but I feel I am being driven away.

And as for the debate about Retford being better, I no longer go to Retford because it is far worse.

Should Bassetlaw Council offer free car parking all day, every day, in the run-up to Christmas?
Yes, it will boost shopping in Worksop and Retford
No, the charges aren't very much anyway and the council needs the revenue
