THE Worksop Harriers held their Half Marathon Championships at the Clowne race last weekend.
Both Steve Battle and Julie Bonser retained the trophies they had won last year.

Unchallenged, Steve had a casual trot round finishing 64th in 1:29:17.

While the ladies made more of a battle of it with Julie Bonser and Caroline McGinley locked together until around the 8-mile mark where Julie's strength and determination paid off. She eased away to finish 270th in 1:46:19.

But Caroline didn't go home empty handed as she took more than two minutes of her personal best time finishing 303rd, 1:49:10.

Other Harriers taking part were: John Harrison (123rd, 1:36:22), Philip Harrop (136th, 1:37:16), Steve Rewston (269th, 1:46:18), Jimmy Kelly (285th, 1:47:33), Donna Blizard (409th, 1:58:07).

In the 3.5mile fun run at Clowne Jack Harrop finished 7th followed by Lauren Ward (12th) and Michele Harrop (14th).
