DIVISION ONE
Stanley Street 2
Pickwicks 2
IN THE early stages Pickwicks had the better of the action, ensuring they pressed the Stanley backline and were also the more creative of the teams.
Stanley did try and fight an up-hill battle, but w
ere unable to deal with Pickwicks' front line.
After Stanley failed to clear a corner the away side went 0-1 up, and minutes later a mix up in defence lead to Pickwicks' second with a fine effort.
After that Stanley did eventually create chances and opportunities, the best of which fell to Donnavan Truchet who dragged his effort wide.
In the second half Stanley started brightly, and after 50 minuets won a free-kick 25 yards out.
With a fierce strike, Thomas Atherton put the ball into the bottom corner.
This gave Stanley a real boost and they won another free-kick 25 yards out.
This time Atherton lifted the ball over the wall and in to the top corner to bring the scores level at 2-2.
Both teams pressed on, and Nick Hall hit the post and Glen Lloyd fired wide, but the score remained 2-2 at full time.
DIVISION THREE
Bakestone Moor 1
Greyhound 0
THE MOOR started brightly in the dull conditions, with Wood working hard in midfield.
There were chances at both ends but after the first 45 minutes the score remained 0-0.
In the second half Greyhound pressed forward and were unlucky not to take the lead on several occassions, but Jones made some fantastic tackles to keep the score level.
This jump-started the Moor into action and after pressure from N. Greveson down the right, Bullock broke the offside trap and fired in a low shot to put the home side into a 1-0 lead.
The Moor could have made the game safe but wayward shooting and good defending by Greyhound kept it at 1-0.
Challenge Cup
JF Commercials 4
St Ledger 0
A KERRY Watkinson brace helped an understrength JF Commercials reach the next round of the Challenge Cup.
Both teams created chances in the early stages but it was Commercials who took the lead on 20 minutes when a Mark Pritchard pass was finished off by Watkinson.
The second half saw Commercials take the game to St Ledger, with Nathan Griffiths and Russell Bird both having chances.
Commercials' second came in some style when Barrie Foster scored from all of 40 yards early in the second half.
The hosts continued to press but had to wait until the last 10 minutes before James Hall broke away to get the third.
In the final minute, Daniel Fox split the Ledger backline to put Watkinson in for his second and Commercials' fourth.
Credit must go to Commercials' midfielder Matt Hendry who played the full 90 minutes in goal, keeping a clean sheet.
Shireoaks Inn 1
Boot and Shoe 4
THE GAME was contested in some muddy conditions, and Boot and Shoe came away victorious.
It took them 20 minutes to break the deadlock after a good cross from the right. Just before half-time Shoe made it 2-0.
In the second half, it was more of the same and Shoe scored in the 60th and 75th minute to double their advantage.
However, Shireoaks did pull one back through a stunning 30-yard strike from Cliff Jackson.
