WORKSOP Town's newest additions have brought a breath of fresh air to the club, according to manager Peter Rinkcavage.
Tigers signed classy midfielder and former Hucknall player-manager Mick Galloway, along with centre-backs Tom Jones and Karl Colley, before Saturday's game at Witton Albion.

All three played a major part in Worksop's first win in 13 attempts, snapping an appalling run of form that saw the club plummet to second bottom of the UniBond Premier.

Colley, a 6ft 4ins giant, and Jones, just an inch shorter, were solid at the back, while Galloway fired a free-kick home to win the match.
Rinkcavage believes that the newest signings, along with recent additions Matt Glass and Chris Adam, have breathed life into Tigers season.

He told the Guardian: "I'm a lot happier about everything now."
"We knew we were lacking pace, flair in midfield and presence at the back, and over the last 10 days I think we've solved a lot of those problems."

"We have much better balance now – Galloway is a natural passer of the ball, Jones and Colley bring presence, and our wingers had crackers on Saturday," he added.

The boss thinks that the luckless 12-game streak without victory is not something the new boys are affected by, and so confidence in the squad has improved.

He said: "The players who have come in are hungry to do well for us, and they're not burdened by recent results."
"They've been a breath of fresh air, and the squad's whole outlook has changed."

Tigers travel to Eastwood tomorrow, having kept busy with a 4-0 friendly win at Blidworth Miners Welfare on Tuesday night.

Andy White, Gary Townsend, Colley and Jones were all on the scoresheet.
Rinkcavage used the exercise to give players some much-needed time on the pitch.

He said: "I wanted to give a run out to a few players who hadn't played much recently."

"Colley and Jones were fantastic on Saturday, but they were a bit undercooked and needed another game."

Whilst confidence is up, Rinkcavage refuses to get carried away, ahead of a difficult trip to Eastwood tomorrow.

"It will be tough, they're a big spending side who are into the second round of the FA Cup and have had some great results."

New midfielder Gareth Holmes may not be fit for tomorrow, while Kirk Jackson has gone on loan to Glapwell for a month.
