Nuisance bikers slapped with Covid breach fines as police seize their quads in Bassetlaw

As a result of complaints from residents, officers from the East Bassetlaw division were out on patrol in the district focusing on off-road vehicles.
They seized two quad bikes and issued several Covid fines for non-essential travel.

Hide AdSeveral individuals will also be recieving community protection warning notices from Bassetlaw District Council.
A spokesperson said: “We will continue to patrol our problem areas such as, Chainbridge Lane at Lound, Bevercotes, Elkesley and Harworth.
“Those found in breach of Covid regulations and using off-road vehicles illegally (including riding on land where you do not have permission) causing anti-social behaviour and criminal damage that affects the local landowners and members of our community will be dealt with robustly.”
The operation was carried out in conjunction with police colleagues in Newark and Sherwood.
