PIRATE parties are taking place across Bassetlaw this week to celebrate National Bookstart Day on Friday 10th October.
Sure Start Children's Centres across the district are inviting children and their families to take part in special parties to celebrate the theme 'Pirates Ahoy'.

Bookstart is the national programme that encourages all parents and carers to enjoy books with children from as early an age as possible.

Parents and carers can bring their little pirates to their local centre to take part in a variety of fun and learning activities including stories and rhymes, themed dressing up, pirate hat making and many more activities.

The parties are taking place at the following Sure Start Children's Centres

* Gateford 7th October 1-3pm
* North Leverton 7th October 9:30 – 11:15am
* Sandy Lane 7th October 1-3pm
* Prospect Kilton 10th October 1-3pm
* West Bassetlaw 10th October 9:15 – 11:15am
* Manton 10th October 9-11am
* Hallcroft 10th October 9-11am
* Harworth 13th October 1-3pm
