A SPECIAL event at Worksop's North Notts Community Arena celebrated the services available for older people across Bassetlaw.
Over 200 people attended the event to get advice and help from agencies including Bassetlaw Council, Notts Fire and Rescue and Bassetlaw Primary Care Trust
The event was officially opened by David Hare, chairman of Bassetlaw Council, and Louise Newcombe, chief executive of Bassetlaw Primary Care Trust.
Free demonstrations and opportunities to try table tennis, indoor bowls and badminton were also available.
Arena manager Nigel Turner was thrilled to see so many people learning about what is on offer.
"It was a really positive day and I got a lot of really good feedback from people who came along," he said.
"Older people can be forgotten and it's good to be able to show them that there are opportunities out there for them."
"I would like to extend special thanks to fitness and tai chi instructors Alison Dolby, Jean Kirby and John Simmonds for giving up their time free for the event."
"I would also like to thank everyone else who was involved and attended the event and provided extremely useful and important advice."
