A 25-year-old man arrested in connection with a shooting on a Worksop house has been released on police bail without charge pending further enquiries

In connection with the same incident detectives have arrested two other people, who are both in their 40s, on suspicion of perverting the course of justice. They have also been released without charge and bailed pending further enquiries.

This follows the drama on Sunday just before 12.30pm when gunshots were fired at a house on Gateford Road.

Afterwards police and forensic teams surrounded the property to collect evidence.

Det Insp Dave Sinclair, from Notts Police said investigations were continuing.

"Any unauthorised use of a firearm is completely unacceptable and the police will rigorously pursue every line of inquiry in order to successfully identify an offender," he said.

"In addition, nobody is above the law in Bassetlaw and the police will arrest anyone who seeks to obstruct an investigation."

"If and when the evidence presents itself, these people will be charged and put before the courts.'

Det Insp Sinclair added that the protection of the community is the force's "main priority".
