LOTTERY winner Karen Child tied the knot with fiancé Wayne Smith in Clowne at the weekend.
Former Clowne Tesco check-out girl Karen 34, scooped £8.4 million back in February 2007, the very same day she and her new husband booked their wedding ceremony.

And on Saturday 19th July, the couple said their vows at Clowne Church followed by a reception at Bondhay Golf Club in Whitwell.

At the time of her win, Karen vowed to have her dream wedding and now plans to honeymoon in Mauritius. Wayne - who used to work at Worksop's B&Q - proposed to Karen at the top of the Eiffel Tower in Paris just a month before winning the jackpot.

Following the win, Karen and her two children Danielle, nine, and Ashley, 14, moved from their council house on Hickinwood Crescent in Clowne to an upmarket five-bed detached home on Ivy Close in Clowne. The family has since moved to Darfoulds and counts millionaire golfer Lee Westwood as one of their neighbours.

Since winning her millions, Karen has bought a box at Old Trafford, new cars and holidays for the family. She has most recently sponsored the home supporters stand at Chesterfield Football Club and from next season the Saltergate Kop will become known as the Karen Child Kop.
