IT SURELY can't be long before Clumber Park announces an A-list band for its summer spectacular – U2 at Clumber anyone?
On Friday I was tasked with attending the arrival of Scouting for Girls and The Feeling.

I hate Scouting for Girls – they're just not my bag. But you tell that to the thousands of fans who turned out to see pop's latest loveables.

Were I to wear a top hat I would be forced to doff it in their direction, because I was actually pretty impressed with their performance, particularly that of Zebedee-esque frontman Roy Stride.

The Feeling were equally well appreciated as they belted out their arsenal of sing-a-long songs with a more polished, if less enthralling performance than SFG.

All of this was warmed up by support acts Turin Brakes, The Rushes and Lowline in what surely represents an event which has something for everyone.

And with the night culminating in a grand firework display, there surely can't be many events which provide such value for money.

Clumber is nurturing something brilliant here, and mark my words, it is only a matter of time before a top rock act hits the bill.
